They are known as "The Mother of All Bandas" thanks to their musical legacy and their cultural impact worldwide. BANDA EL RECODO DE CRUZ LIZÁRRAGA was founded by its founder, Don Cruz Lizárraga, in 1938 and owes its name to his hometown of El Recodo, Sinaloa. BANDA EL RECODO is the longest-running group of its kind; they have toured five continents, visiting countries such as Holland, France, Germany, England, Spain, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Hawaii, Japan, Australia, Puerto Rico, Chile, and Russia. Their music has a distinctive and distinguished signature, which has led to its use in Mexican soap operas and national and international films. They have two stars on the Walk of Stars in Las Vegas: one for EL RECODO's worldwide career and the other for Don Cruz Lizárraga, who is considered the pioneer of banda music. They also celebrate the Official Banda El Recodo Day (October 9) in Las Vegas and are the only group of their kind to have performed at the White House in front of then-President George W. Bush (USA). They have recorded more than 200 albums, including previously unreleased albums, special offers, and instrumentals. They have been part of productions alongside great singers of yesteryear such as Pedro Infante, Jorge Negrete, Javier Solís, Lola Beltrán, and José Alfredo Jiménez, among others, and in recent years have collaborated with major pop and regional Mexican stars. With 86 years of experience, BANDA EL RECODO has earned several international awards: They have won 10 Latin Grammys, 12 Premios Lo Nuestro, 5 Billboard Latin Music Awards, as well as several BMI Awards, Premios Juventud, Lunas del Auditorio, and 6 Grammy (American) and American Music Award nominations. On their 80th anniversary, they released the album "80 Years of Music Among Friends." And during the pandemic, they performed the "Digital World Concert Live," broadcast on their social media channels, becoming one of the first artists to perform a virtual concert under the strict conditions arising from the pandemic. In 2023, they celebrated their 85th anniversary by releasing the album "Hecho en México... Mágico," an album that pays tribute to the artists who made Mexican music one of the most important genres worldwide. It's like "The Mother of All Bands," interpreting the musical legacy of artists such as Juan Gabriel, Antonio Aguilar, Joan Sebastian, Marco Antonio Muñiz, Lola Beltrán, Lucha Villa, Vicente Fernández, Luis Pérez Meza, Chavela Vargas, Chayito Valdez, and Los Tigres del Norte. The album "HECHO EN MÉXICO... MÁGICO" is composed of 11 covers, plus the bonus track "México Mágico" by Nacho Cano, from the musical "Malinche," currently playing in Spain. The songs promoted were "Al ver que te vas" and "Dios bendiga nuestro amor." With this album, BANDA EL RECODO DE CRUZ LIZÁRRAGA celebrated 85 years of successful career, a success that has made them a benchmark for our music and culture throughout the world, just as Don Cruz Lizárraga desired. In 2024, they will release the songs "Mi corazón encantado" and "Coqueto tazo dorado." "My Enchanted Heart" is originally a Japanese song that is part of the universe of one of the most famous animated series (anime) released in the late 1980s and still popular today: Dragon Ball Z. On the other hand, "Coqueto Tazo Dorado" is a very cheerful and danceable melody that alludes to the "spiritual patrol" that made it a hit on social media.
