Alejandro Fernández is one of Mexico's biggest international music stars.
Son of icon Vicente Fernández, he established himself as an interpreter of ranchera music during the 1990s. His eponymous debut album was nominated as Mexican Regional Album of the Year at the 1993 Premios Lo Nuestro. Four years and four albums later, he ventured into Latin pop with Me Estoy Enamorando, a smash hit on the charts, and has been on the music charts ever since.
Nine of her albums have topped the Latin Pop charts, and eleven others have entered the U.S. Top 200. Entre Tus Brazos_, released in 2000, was nominated for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance at the first edition of the Latin Grammy Awards. In 2004, the chart-topping album A Corazón Abierto fused classic Mexican romantic balladry with Latin pop production. 2009's Dos Mundos was also a best-seller and received multiplatinum certification. In 2017, Rompiendo Fronteras combined ranchero sounds with elements of Latin pop and reggaeton, again achieving multiplatinum certification.In 2020, Fernández released Hecho en México, his formal return to Mexican music, recording exclusively norteño and mariachi tracks after two decades of exploring pop. This album reached the top spot on the Latin Albums and Regional Mexican charts.
