NXNNI

NXNNI is a singer-songwriter originally from Monterrey, Nuevo León, who is making waves with her war-themed corridos. Her career is unconventional; she has worked diligently to break into a competitive industry and has gained experience on the stages of her city. She began at a very young age as a backup singer in cover bands and rapping with other local artists. In 2021, she began her career as a soloist in regional Mexican music, infusing this music with R&B and urban pop. Projecting herself as one of the most promising artists in the corrido genre, NXNNI continues to make constant progress and is making a strong impact in a male-dominated genre. After participating in the corrido album "BÉLICO INDIE Vol. 1" with her song "VATO" at the end of 2023, NXNNI is embarking on a new adventure with an exclusive contract with Fonovisa Records. To celebrate this union, the beautiful and talented Monterrey native released her song "Rosa Pastel," a cover of one of the most important hits by the group BELANOVA, reworked in the mountain genre. NXNNI rocked the song "Rosa Pastel," adding a unique and distinctive touch to this new version of the Mexican electro-pop group's iconic song. This song is the first single from the musical project, to be released in 2025. The precursor to "Corridos Kawaii" later presents the song "MONSTER HIGH" in collaboration with Sam Vázquez. A "brillosito" corrido that captivates and inspires audiences to identify with its unique style, without neglecting its roots in regional Mexican music. "MONSTER HIGH" is an unreleased kawaii corrido that was written during a sleepover between NXNNI and Sam Vázquez after a night out. It was born after talking about the lack of a corrido written by women that spoke about what "Bratz" or "Monster High" girls like to do, such as having fun with their friends, feeling empowered and free, and not caring about fitting the stereotypes of the "ideal woman." In this song, they make an iconic reference to the aesthetics of Monster High and Bratz: bright eyes, huge lips, heavy makeup, and bright colors, a sweet metaphor for those who never identified with "Barbies." Without a doubt, it promises to become the anthem of the "Bratz girls." NXNNI presents an interesting musical proposal, refreshing traditional corridos with the creation of "Corridos Kawaii," thus breaking the mold in a genre dominated by men; "kawaii" is a Japanese adjective that translates to "pretty" or "cute." A concept that perfectly describes her ornate corridos, full of bling bling and aesthetic qualities worthy of kawaii. Meanwhile, Sam Vázquez is a young singer-songwriter from Monterrey who focuses her music on portraying the reality and transformation of an ordinary person: their longings, setbacks, lessons learned, and any banality that allows for a new song. The union of these two talented girls resulted in "MONSTER HIGH." "Nobody Needs You" and "444" are the next singles she's promoting. Finally, she closes out 2024 with the song "Tonta," a song that musically departs from the corridos NXNNI has previously presented. "Tonta," a previously unreleased melody that speaks to how a person can feel when faced with betrayal. Drawing on a nostalgic Texan sound, NXNNI immerses us in the melancholy and pain of suffering infidelity. "Tonta," a youthful and fresh Kawaii cumbia that showcases the versatility of the young Monterrey-born singer. The creator of the Kawaii corridos kicks off 2025 with a special double single for all the kids. The sparkly musical explosion transforms into two very different tracks, both filled with the Kawaii sound that has slowly been winning over audiences. "Plakitty + Pvta Debilidad" are the two tracks released simultaneously. "Plakitty" alludes to the sound that fingernails make when they hit different objects, and is used flirtatiously in this melody. "Pvta Debilidad" speaks of that feeling of fragility and embarrassment that a person provokes in us when we like them. We can be strong and unyielding, but if that person looks at us, they become our "Achilles' heel." In March, NXNNI releases "Fancy," the latest track leading up to the release of their album "MI MUNDO KAWAII." It's a catchy tune, closer to pop thanks to its instrumentation and arrangements.
