Miami, FL (October 30, 2025) – Majo Aguilar continues to cement her place as a defining voice in música Mexicana with the release of “Chilo,” an empowering anthem that transforms heartbreak from a painful relationship into liberation. Known for her soul-stirring vocals and deep-rooted connection to Mexican tradition, Majo once again bridges the classic sounds of ranchera with a fresh contemporary edge. The track explores themes of reclaiming power and moving forward from love that no longer serves you.

“Chilo” is a song for anyone who has turned heartbreak into peace. Majo Aguilar captures the moment when self-love replaces longing, transforming pain into liberation from someone who once dimmed your light. Her voice glides over lively guitars and bold mariachi brass, balancing strength and grace as she delivers a confident step toward independence. Blending classic ranchera spirit with a modern edge, “Chilo” reflects the evolving sound of música Mexicana, where every note carries a message of freedom and self-discovery.

The music video, directed by QUIÉN, opens with Majo on set against a vibrant orange desert and lightning-filled skies, immediately setting a dramatic and empowering tone. Throughout the video, she is seen driving a red vintage car and navigating each of these striking landscapes, symbolizing her journey from solitude to self-assurance. Every scene balances strength and serenity, visually reflecting the emotional liberation and resilience at the heart of the song. With bold imagery and dynamic movement, the “Chilo” video brings Majo’s music to life, capturing both her voice and her story in vivid detail.

Following the release of “Así Son Las Cosas”, Majo Aguilar continues to reaffirm her place as one of the genre’s most compelling voices, balancing tradition with innovation in every release. Her moving rendition of Agustín Lara’s iconic, “Veracruz”, alongside her grandfather showcases her ability to honor tradition while bringing her own voice and interpretation to beloved classics. Building on her acclaimed album Mariachi Mío, she blends classic mariachi with contemporary elements, including tumbado textures, offering fresh, forward-looking takes on timeless forms. With over 436 million global streams, Majo’s impact on the genre is undeniable. Majo most recently won Best Mexican Mariachi Music at the 2025 Premios Juventud for her collaboration with Alex Fernández on “Cuéntame,” following her triumph at the Premios Heat 2025 for Best Song for Video Games, Series, or Movies for the same track from the hit telenovela Me Atrevo a Amarte, and earlier this year was named Mexican Music – Female Artist of the Year at the 27th Annual Premio Lo Nuestro. Up next, Majo will perform at the ARRE Festival in Monterrey on November 8. The following day, she’ll join the Second World Mariachi Congress as a guest ambassador, performing during the closing ceremony with a four-song set at Mexico City’s Zócalo.

With “Chilo, Majo Aguilar continues to embrace her lineage while forging her own artistic path, honoring the legacy of Mexican music with authenticity and emotion.
