Miami, FL (January 16, 2026) – With a unique and fresh style, Los Peña kick off 2026 with the release of their first single, “Antes,” a reimagined version of the hit by Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Obie Bermúdez, now presented through a norteño cumbia sound.
“Antes” marks the beginning of this new chapter in their career alongside FONO and offers a preview of what will be their debut EP. The song explores nostalgia and the emotional complexity of a breakup, reflecting on the emptiness left behind by someone essential in one’s life. In this version, Los Peña successfully infuse the melancholy of the original track into an authentic, danceable rhythm.
Formed by siblings Jorge, Amy, and Manuel, Los Peña began their journey as a traditional fara fara ensemble, mastering instruments such as the tololoche, bajo sexto, and accordion. This solid foundation allowed them to develop a distinctive sound that led to their participation in the series Cóyotl: Héroe y Bestia, where they not only recorded the soundtrack but also made their acting debut.
With this release, Los Peña demonstrate how their dedication and artistic vision bring to life a fresh and unique project, positioning them as one of the most authentic and promising new talents in the genre for 2026.
