Austin, TX (March 2, 2026) – – Under the concept MUSIC: NO BORDERS, a celebration of sounds that cross genres, cultures, and geographies, FONO and Universal Music Mexico present a special showcase as part of South by Southwest, spotlighting artists who are redefining the global landscape of Mexican and Latin music.
The event will take place on March 18 at Mala Fama, one of Austin’s most vibrant venues, where different generations, styles, and movements will converge for one unforgettable night. This showcase brings together a powerful lineup of talent representing the sounds shaping today’s cultural conversation:
Danny Felix: One of the leading voices in contemporary regional Mexican music. With a fresh approach to corridos and storytelling that resonates with new audiences, he has established himself as one of the most promising young artists with strong international projection.
La Coreañera: An artist who breaks cultural and musical boundaries, blending sounds with an authentic and disruptive identity. A Korean multi-instrumentalist based in Mexico, she has made cumbia her own creative language, uniting two worlds on one stage.
La Nueva Ola de Cumbia: A project revitalizing cumbia with a modern vision, incorporating contemporary elements while preserving the genre’s essence. Their live energy promises to turn the showcase into a true celebration—because, as they say, they’ve arrived to “cumbialize” the world with an explosion of rhythm and dance.
Moreno X4: Creator of drilla corridos, Moreno X4 delivers a strong urban proposal with a distinctive aesthetic, blending the raw edge of drill with the narrative tradition of corridos. He represents the evolution of the Latin street movement, connecting with a generation seeking authenticity and power in every track.
Vivir Quintana: A singer-songwriter recognized for her powerful voice and deeply socially conscious lyrics. Her music has become a symbol of resistance and awareness, positioning her as one of the most influential artists on today’s scene.
The diversity of genres—from regional Mexican to cumbia, from urban to singer-songwriter—demonstrates the cultural richness that defines Latin music today and reinforces a shared vision of elevating talent without borders to global audiences.
This showcase between FONO and Universal Music Mexico reaffirms both labels’ commitment to championing Latin talent on global platforms.
