The legacy of BANDA EL RECODO DE CRUZ LIZÁRRAGA cannot be measured solely by the number of albums sold, radio hits, or awards won, but by the mark they have left over nearly 90 years as a fundamental part of Mexico’s musical history—impacting audiences around the world.
Known as “The Mother of All Bands,” El Recodo is the only musical institution of its genre to have performed across all five continents, becoming true ambassadors of Mexican culture and art. That’s why every time the band performs in a country where Spanish isn’t spoken—but the music still resonates in people’s hearts—it becomes a moment of great significance.
This was the case during their visit to Japan in late 2024—their second time in the country—this time as part of the “Camino a Latinoamérica” Festival. From that performance, the band decided to record a live album, which is now available on all digital platforms.
'EN VIVO DESDE JAPÓN' is the title of the album, featuring 12 tracks (including several medleys) recorded live in Japan, along with four brand-new studio songs: “Mi corazón encantado,” “Coqueto tazo dorado,” “No me aprovechaste” (currently playing on the radio), and “El malo fui yo.”
Major hits such as “Te presumo,” “La mejor de todas,” “Y llegaste tú,” “Que te ruegue quien te quiera,” “La quebradora,” “Me gusta todo de ti,” “Vas a llorar por mí,” “Te ofrezco un corazón,” “El sinaloense,” “Acá entre nos,” “Puño de tierra,” and many more are featured on the album, which includes ranchera, romantic, and dance songs, without leaving out iconic Mexican classics like “El rey,” “Cielito lindo,” and “Viva México.”
BANDA EL RECODO DE CRUZ LIZÁRRAGA stands for quality, dedication, hard work, discipline, and perseverance. Their name commands respect not only from fans but also from fellow artists who have followed the path the band has paved for them. That is why they are—and will always be—“The Mother of All Bands”… iuuu!!!
